Basuki: No Mercy For Illegal Parking

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, will give no mercy to those vehicles park illegally. Moreover, his party has added automatic tow cars through Jakarta Transportation Department.

We will keep taking action against illegal parking, No mercy!

"We will keep taking action against illegal parking, No mercy!," said Basuki, at City Hall, Monday (12/14).

He claimed he is preparing new gubernatorial regulation for two-wheeled vehicles park illegally. As on the current regulation stated that the sanction is only Rp 500,000

City Launched 32 Automatic Tow Cars

"The new regulation now is being prepared. As on the current regulation only stated about motor vehicles. There should be for two-wheeled vehicles that is possibly amounted to Rp 250,000.

For transporting the vehicles, the transportation department has purchased some trucks. In fact, next year, its procurement will be multiplied.

"We just purchased trucks for transporting motorcycles which are like in a showroom so that the motorcycles wouldn't be broken. The netted motorcycles then will be charged Rp 250,000.

Every truck has transport capacity up to 30-40 units. The policy is for disciplining Jakartans. Because illegal parking will increase congestion in the capital.

"Including keep adding tow cars. I think besides for disciplining Jakartans, buying the truck will also make turnover," he expressed.
